India is very colourful and vibrant country. The colours are not restricted to only playing or decorations, they are a part of our food as well.

Spices in a market in Goa

Rangoli colours in Mumbai
Rangoli is an art for decorating floors with colourful designs and motifs during festive season. The motifs are generally taken from nature and mostly consist of natural ingredients and dyes.

Holi colours in Delhi
Holi is a festival of colours. People apply colour on each other’s face and pour colourful water as well.

Those are some of the best pictures I’ve seen of spices and dyes out of India!

I love the spice markets in towns and cities – they have a colourful exotic feel to them.

Great colour and I’m sure great smell, makes our UK cities seem even grayer by comparison
