Wandering Wednesday Photo – VT Station

In this weekly photo series I am starting with a photo of my city, Mumbai.
This is a part of the famous VT rail station building, a historic railway station in Mumbai which also serves as the headquarters of the Central Railways. This station is one of the busiest railway stations in India and serves Central Railway trains terminating in Mumbai as well as the Mumbai suburban railway.
This station was nominated a World Heritage Site by the World Heritage Committee in 2004.
Famous for its architecture, this building also became famous in recent times when terrorist attacks were carried out by Kasab with his accomplice not even a year back.

If only we had maintained all our lovely colonial buildings. Was in Kolkata recently; it was sad to see the decaying building that had seen so much history.

This is the BMC (Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation) headqaurters and is the building opposite VT. It’s not part of the railway terminus.

You were right.
So I have changed the photo to match the description.
Thanks for pointing it out.
