Return….
Ok, so return journey was quite smooth and boring compared to adventurous departure, the details of which will NOT come out.
Just to give you a glimpse… I had got a nasty six inch deep blue-black mark on my thigh, sprained ankle and one wheel of my strolley had come off. All this at Churchgate station itself and I had exactly 9 minutes to catch my train from VT. And remember I was traveling alone and doctor had advised me against lifting even half a kg weight ?
Anyway, took Kuala Lumpur – Kochi – Mumbai route.
It being a budget travel, I was supposed to take a train from Kochi to Mumbai but apparently V was missing me so much that he said enough is enough and sent me an air ticket for Kochi-Mumbai part.

Koh Lanta, a secluded island where I stayed for 2 nights.
When my flight from KL was delayed, I was wondering whether I’d be able to catch the connecting flight to Mumbai or was it going to be a double expense for us. Fortunately there was a gap of around 3 hours between the two flights and I could make it.
At Kochi, it was thunderstorm and heavy rains which welcomed me back to India and the flight was again delayed. Since it was the last leg, it didn’t bother me much to reach home after midnight. V was patiently waiting at the airport.
It wasn’t very hard to return home. Not much jet lag or culture shock as we usually get after being out of the country for a period of time. It wasn’t a very long trip to a culturally very different country.

On way to one of the islands.
I did & learnt many things during this sojourn.
I ate authentic local food, played and danced with local people, got hordes of real hugs, made few good friends, travelled with locals and picked up a few local words.
I camped, I snorkeled, got myself Thai massage, got a cartoon caricature done and I shopped too (ever wondered where from a third heavy bag came into picture?). ![]()
I was guided; I was loved; I was stalked; I was pushed; I was pulled; I was cheated; I was helped; I was welcomed too.
Some stories will unfold and see the light and some will go beneath the sheet of reticence.
All in all, it was good experience and I am raring to go again.
Sponsors, please don’t rush. Kindly make a queue.
I need to recollect things and organize photos and videos. Lots to share and lots to work on piled pending work.
Till then ciao ! Terima kasih.

Awesome series of posts! Meeting the locals and experiencing things first hand is really the best things that you can take away from any travels. Budget traveler or not, you are richer for your experiences and NO ONE can take that away from you!

No, it doesn’t look like a long break.
I could have easily continued for some more months.
And settling in physically…. emotionally there is no problem.
