Nice pictures. First two are from Airavateswara Temple, Darasuram. The third one is the first Gopuram “Keralanthagan” of the Brihadeswara temple, Thanjavur. It is a myth that the shadow does not fall on the ground. You can find a photograph of the shadow falling at:
