Aloha Hawaii, the island I would like to visit sometime.
Polynesian islands always conjure up images of extreme tropics, flowers bands on the head, swirling hips, Pina-Colada and generally happy bunch of people. We are also reminded of active volcanoes that are scattered in most of the islands!
Polynesian islands or Polynesian triangle as it is often called include a vast number of islands on the Pacific Ocean, with the apex at Hawaii, New Zealand and Easter Islands.

I would like to visit it one day.

Although I have been to New Zealand, I am told Hawaii is a lot different. Do you know Hawaii is the youngest state of the USA and lies over 3000 KM west of mainland US and consists of over 100 islands spread across about 2000 KMs ? However there are eight major islands which are large and most inhabited.
Ni’ihau, Kaua’i, O’ahu, Moloka’i, Lāna’i, Kaho’olawe, Maui, and Hawaii (also called the big island). And best part is, I am told that the big island is growing even bigger !

I think the experience of soaking in the warm and tranquil refreshing waters while gazing at the natural beauty of the terrain would be wonderful.
The world’s tallest mountain, Mauna Kea, taller than the Mt. Everest by about 1400 meters is said to be in these parts, submerged completely in the ocean.
While I don’t think I would see it, I would definitely like to visit at least one active volcano having already seen two in two different countries.
Nightlife in Waikiki, lazing at Lana’i and Maui beaches, waterfalls and fine dining. Boy ! I can’t wait!

While writing this I hear the devastating Tsunami that hit Japan a few days ago, also hit Hawaii as expected but caused little damage. I hope tourism is also not affected much.
