A query from Aditya on one of my earlier posts, made me write this one. Mostly I reply to all travel related queries in the comment section itself and/or by mail but this one needed a post.
His question is on suggestions for places to stay in Goa.
Goa is a very friendly (user friendly in my language ) place to stay for all classes. Plenty of options throughout the year. From five star hotels to a makeshift hut. Depends solely what kind of a vacation you are looking for. …

Continued from Part I.
Agonda beach
It is long and lonely three-kilometer beach of white sand & very white water fringed with palms and dominated by a large hill to the south. You can see the southern part in the picture, beyond which is Palolem beach.
This place is again rocky and dangerous. The waves are very rough and it’s not safe to swim too on this beach. There are plenty of sign boards/flags displaying danger warnings to the people not to venture into water.

If one thinks of beaches of India, the first name that comes to mind is Goa. While beaches like Calangute, Vagator, and Dona Paola are the first areas that the tourists visit, Goa has far more to offer to the visitors.

Surfing, snorkeling, jet-skiing, boogie boarding, scuba diving, water-skiing, parasailing, windsurfing, and deep sea fishing are just some of the water sports …

Goa is a small place so moving from one place to another has plenty of options. The roads, as per Indian standards, are generally in good condition including the ones in interiors. But don’t be surprised if I say that National Highway NH17 which passes through Goa is just a 1+1 lane road and not a 4+4 or even a 2+2.
Local Transport
Wherever I go, at least once I try to use the local transport to get a ‘at home’ feel. A ride on a local bus, whilst you are on …

When I took this picture of Lambani or Lamani tribal in Goa, I never knew I would write about her. I was particularly impressed with this smiling lady with silver and lac jewelry hanging around her neck, ears, nose, wrists, fingers, toes, ankles and even adorning her hair.
Sitting outside her little roadside shop she gave me a contended smile and happily posed for photos. She was wearing a vibrantly coloured ‘mirrored’ dress that attracted many a curious tourists including me. Her shop was full of anything & everything colorful …

The markets of Goa are fun to visit, whether it is vegetable market of Vasco, daily market of Mapusa or any other weekly market. All the major cities & towns in Goa have their weekly markets, which is an experience by itself.
