Other night market of Krabi or Part I is here.

This night market (pasar malam) on Maharaj Soi 10 in the centre of town is not very far from river Krabi. Off the main road and near the central Songthaew station, this is actually a weekend market. Every weekend (Friday till Sunday), the market starts at 5 PM and goes on till 10:30.

Bigger in size compared to first one, this is the night market to head for if you are looking for more than just food. It has lots of things for sale. From clothes of all kinds (T-shirts, ladies dresses, lingerie) to hand made stylish bags, souvenirs to footwear … you’ll find everything here.
You can get a Thai massage done on a pavement or a (more…)

Can you believe that till the time I touched Krabi, I had never heard of night markets there ?
If you are in Krabi, you have to make a visit to experience the ultimate charm of these markets. The locals as well as tourists look forward to it eagerly. People staying in Ao Nang or Railey beach area specially make a trip here. Open night markets or pasar malam are a favorite and individual vendors rule the place.

There are basically two main night markets in Krabi; one on weekends and the other on all nights. And I loved both.

Sunset at Koh Phayam

I like this photo very much.

Sky covered with radiance of golden hues mixed with erubescency of sunset …
looking at its own reflection in tranquil water … …

Definitely gives a distinct feel.

Shot at Koh Phayam.

You can watch more skies around the world at SWF.

Hot bubbling tea.

Among hot beverages of Malaysia, it is considered as national drink.

It is served hot and prepared in a similar way we prepare coffee in south, pulling it from one tumbler to another. But do you see something strange in this photo ?

Krabi town is incomplete without its river, bearing the same name. Some major shops, banks and govt offices are on main Uttarakit road which runs along the river. It has a nice wide promenade to spend your evenings and you can also see evening/ nights markets, docks and parks along the way.

LRT = Light Rail Transit (metro or local as you wish to call it)

Masjid Jamek is an interchange station in Kuala Lumpur where you change LRT trains to catch trains for other lines. (Examples Dadar in Mumbai or Rajiv Chowk in Delhi).
Lost in my thoughts, I was waiting at the station to take a train on Ampang line to go to my hotel. It was raining off & on making me wonder what would I do once I reach my destination. My hotel was around 8-10 minutes walk from station and I wasn’t carrying anything to protect myself from rain.

Then I saw my train pulling up; (more…)

It was my first visit to Trivandrum or even Kerala.

I was apprehensive about the place I was going to stay. I needed a budgeted, clean and safe place. On Googling I found, hotels near Trivandrum station were all of similar nature and class.
As soon as you put your foot on the ground, the touts swam you with offers to take you to a nice hotel. They get commission, hotel gets a customer and you pay the bill. To tell you the truth, I am susceptible to these pressure tactics, especially if I am traveling alone.
So, I wanted a place I could directly head for, shooing away these touts.
