This week I was in Kaas plateau, a place supposed to be full of multi colored flowers.
The seasonal flowers are spread over vast expanse of a few kilometers.

Picture of the moment: Lady with an umbrella
Picture of the moment is a weekly series exhibiting pictures from around the world.

It was monsoon season and we were holidaying in a hill station. It was heavy fog & slight drizzle when we went out for a walk. Then I noticed this woman, holding an umbrella and standing still. Her umbrella threw some color in an otherwise dull day.

MTDC toilet at Lonar
This is the state of the common toilet in MTDC resort at Lonar.
Does it look okay to you? Is there something missing?

MTDC Lonar @lemonicks.com

Such a clean and lovely toilet !

No water or flush tank, forget about the tissues, clean pot or floor.

Worst or best thing that is missing here is a door! When there is no door, you’d be a fool to expect a hook to hang your bag or scarf etc. Right ?

And man, I had to use it more than once! When you have to pee, you have to pee.

How I did that? I (more…)

First thing about India
What is the first thing that comes to your mind when I say ‘India‘?

Beautiful ? Chaotic? Dirty? Splendid? Crazy?

crazy cow @lemonicks.com

This crazy cow would not let us drink water on a very hot day & started pushing whoever came near the tap. I have this on a video too.

I want to hear it from you. Even if you have not visited this country, you can chip in your views or perceptions about India.
For first 20 responses I will update this post with your reply and link, preferably Twitter ID. The idea is to know other people with whom we can connect.

Of course, you are always welcome even if you do not have any link to share or prefer to comment as anonymous.

But there are two conditions.

Malaysian food festival in India.
Sometime back I was invited by Tourism Malaysia to attend Malaysian food festival.
Being fond of Malaysian food I could not resist myself from savoring some of the dishes. I also looked for Apam Balik which was absent from the menu, probably because it is a street food.
The most common dishes like Roti Canai, Nasi Goreng etc were missing from the menu as well. Probably they wanted us to taste some new dishes. :)

Fish bowl soup and cauliflower curry soup
Satay chicken, Satay veg
Roti Jala
Ayam Ketumbar
Ikan Assam
Soya tofu beans salad
Rojak of fruits
Blueberry jelly
Mango Raspberry

Here I share a few photos of the cuisine. Photography wasn’t allowed unless things were on your plate. Don’t be surprised if you find more dessert in my plate. :)

And so we bade farewell to our Lord Ganesha.
The Elephant God was worshipped for ten days amidst fanfare and now it was time to say goodbye.

Reverberating “Ganapati Bappa Morya ! Pudchya Varshi Laukar Yaa!”, requesting Him to come fast next year, people carried Him to the respective immersion place, whether it was a small pond or a lake or the Arabian sea !

They carried Him on their heads, in their laps or in large trucks, the spirit of this festival remained high. It didn’t make any difference whether they were just two or a large group; whether they were Hindu, Muslim or Sikhs. Everybody rejoiced.

I have tried to catch the mood in my camera. There are many, many photos which I’ll upload soon in my photo gallery.

Till then here are some glimpses.

Golden Beaches and Secluded Coves of Cyprus
Back to one of my favourite topics. The Mediterranean region. :D

I remember once I was given an opportunity to fly to a Mediterranean island which is supposed to be in part Europe and part Asia. This was going to be pure work. On hearing the name of the country, I had refused. It was fashionable to work only in US, West Europe and some other countries. Working in a small island in the medi was not considered at all.

Things have changed now. I don’t mind exploring Cyprus which is now fully part of the European Union.
