Cape Town »
This is the sixth post in this batch of Guest-post series on this site. The contributions are from people like you and me but not necessarily from the blogging world. We see, observe and experience many mundane things in our daily life. The flavours are different but the interest is common in these posts … and that is Travel.
Over to Amy Baker.
If you are lucky enough to be embarking on a trip to Cape Town I would recommend that you give yourself a good amount of time to get …
Amritsar »
If you are on a whirlwind day tour of Amritsar, like we were, then the following question would have cropped up in your gray cells more than once.
What am I going to do in Amritsar?
Well, here is a gist of what we did.
We’d chalked out our plan with the help of the rickshaw fellow and the receptionist at the hotel.
1) Have stuffed kulchas, paranthas or Lachedar parantha for breakfast at the any one of the many dhabas around the bus stand. Or you can savour on Sarson ka Saag & …

Malli to Nalli
My tryst with Chennai (formerly Madras) includes Sarvana stores, Kumaran silks, Nallis, Pothys and GRT….. Dhal powders, (different types of podis such as paruppu podis etc), maanga inji pickle. The list goes on…
Forget about anything else, my visits to Chennai are combination of smaller excursions to acquire these much sought after possessions.
As much as I dislike Chennai for its anti Hindi propaganda, irritating auto rickshaws, the hot & humid weather and the city’s laid back attitude, my sole aim to enjoy this city is by shopping there. A …

At …

Delhi is first among them.
Being the capital city it has a few privileges that are visible at first sight but the city also has a down side to it. While you love the variety and richness of …
Cape Town, Sydney »
When I went to Sydney first, I started doing my research on the place, which I mostly do. I distinctly remember having noticed another city which was almost on the same latitude, lying on the southern hemisphere but separated by many thousand Kilometers.
I had made a mental note that I would visit this other town some time in my life. I shall club it with my visit to Africa. Any guesses? You are right. I am talking about Cape Town.
Being on the same latitude and both being sea ports ensure …
Slovenia »
Remember my 3 female friends who love to paint towns red?
This is their account into the first of their foray into East European Countries.
First, one of us, C, wanted to know why is Slovenia an East European Country. This is south of Austria (separated by the Alps) which is deemed to be a West European Country. No one knows probably or is it too political to talk about it? Maybe the readers can help.
Slovenia is part of the area called the Balkans and was part of erstwhile Yugoslavia …
