Positive vibes of Rudraprayag
Rudraprayag is a small pilgrim town in Uttrakhand and one can not call it a touristy place. Hence it is not on the map of vacation lists of most people.
But that doesn’t mean it is an unpopular place.
Just as the town is on the holy confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini, it is also at the conjunction of roads leading to Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham. Almost all the people going to these shrines stop here for a change of bus or to have lunch en route their …

I am off to Uttarakhand to do some hiking in Himalayas. Can you imagine it is my first visit to that state? Dehradoon, Mussourie, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Nainital…. the state has so many beautiful & alluring places but I have never been to any of them.
Tomorrow early morning we will start our journey. The duration will be around 3 weeks.
Hopefully.
There is no fixed return date as we do not have fixed itinerary. This year Uttarakhand is experiencing heavy rains, landslides, cloudbursts etc. Keeping that in mind we have kept some buffer …

Today at Blogathon is Theme day and the theme is “My five favourite places to write …. ”
Well, the theme was a tad difficult for me so I changed it to suit me. It is allowed.
The theme is now “My five favourite places”. Again, I didn’t want to write name of cities or towns that are my favorite places because five is a very very small number and I won’t do any justice to the theme.
So instead, I chose five places in a different manner where I would like …

Amongst all memories of Geneva, Switzerland, I have 3 distinct ones.
One is witnessing Jet d’eau (literally jet of water, a fountain in the middle of Geneva lake (or Lac Leman), day in and day out, sometimes going on the walk way right up to the fountain or walk along the lake drinking in the beauty. Another is the huge flower clock.
And the third memory is of Mont Blanc (no, not the pen ). I am talking about the highest mountain peak in Alps, at which we looked longingly, every …

Located in South America alongside the South Pacific Ocean, Peru has a heritage that many countries envy. Much of the attraction lies in the natural resources, the archaeological finds and the Inca’s empire and activity holidays often involve treks to Machu Picchu or hikes along the Sierra. Less known than the Inca Trail but still as popular, are the Cordillera and the Colca Canyon trails. Two other treks to explore during activity holidays include Ausangate and Salcantay.
Peru is a great place for family holidays, as the diversity and activities are …

Contd from here ….. A trip to Sikkim
Plan for next day was local sight seeing which was to start at around 10 since we were quite late to hit the bed on first night.
I took advantage of this extra time in the morning and ventured out to a nearby village with my camera.
Whether it was a school or a house, the morning chores took importance over anything else.
I met a young girl in her school uniform rushing towards her house after borrowing two eggs from neighbours. I saw a young …

It all started when I received a message from Lakshmi; it would be a gross understatement if I call her just a traveller.
She asked me if I would be interested in visiting Gangtok to be a part of the select group of travel bloggers, writers and photographers; on an invite by Club Mahindra.
My flight to Delhi was at around 7 in the morning and from there I was to catch a flight to Bagdogra. When I boarded the plane I was wondering how the trip would turn out to be. …
