Adalaj ni Vav or Adalaj stepwell was the first place we visited after landing in Ahmedabad the previous evening. We were staying in a Heritage house in old town and were advised to hire an auto to take us places to see in Ahmedabad.
I had heard about its magnificent carving but did not know it has a very interesting story behind it as well!
My instant reaction on seeing it was a “Wow” instead of Vav.

When I saw this statue in Plaza de Sol, Madrid, I was told that this statue is The Symbol of Madrid. A tree and a bear? I was intrigued enough to find out the story behind it.

Today is India’s independence day. I wish all Indians across the world a very happy Independence day.

Note:- This solo trip of Tamilnadu has done much damage than I had ever thought. I was unwell for a long time because of Dengue and then some other related problems. I had fever till 5 days back and confined to bed.
Now I am okay and hope to make up for the lost time.

Within the famous Snake Temple in Penang island, there are two wells called the two Dragon Pure Water Wells. These wells represent a pair of red eyes of an auspicious dragon. When the temple was being constructed, it is said that the door of Heaven was opened and a fierce dragon descended and landed in front of the temple with its tail facing west.
