You must be wondering what I am upto these days!
Well, I am back from my trekking trip to the valley of flowers, Hemkunt Sahib and more. And I tell you, trekking nearly 60 kilometers in all, half of which was uphill is no joke for a city dweller like me !
I also went to Badrinath and walked up to the last tea shop in last village on Indian side before descending to Rishikesh, Dehradun et al.

Flowers have been part of humankind’s existence; I am sure, since time immemorial. In fact the myriad colors lift ones mood from morose to joyous in a moment. So much so that now-a-days there is a new branch of alternate medicine based just on that, called Flower Therapy.
A few months back after starting out for the famous Valley of flowers, I was destined to quit the trip midway and come back empty handed. I really needed a balm to calm my hurt soul.

Nighoj potholes (कुंड)
Located around 20 kms from Chincholi is a village called Nighoj.
No, we are not talking about this sleepy village in rural Maharashtra which comes alive only during Janamashtami festival when lakhs of devotees throng to witness a miracle, that of an earthen pot of water coming out of a well in the village. There is an interesting story attached to it which shall be told at a later date.
Instead, we are here to see another wonder of nature…. the potholes of Nighoj !

I had always wanted to visit the Lonar crater in Maharashtra; it never failed to fascinate me through photos and whatever information I had. So when I got an opportunity to visit Aurangabad, I made a point to make a dash to this place as well. How I reached there or returned back, is another interesting adventurous story but this post is about Lonar lake.
