It was the boxing-day and we could see that Christmas mood was still there at the Holiday Inn Jaipur. There was a 10 foot Christmas tree at the main door itself announcing proudly that it was still Christmas season. On entering we found an atrium as high as the building itself, all of seven storeys and from the top was a bunch of green string-lights arranged in a conical form giving a feeling of a 100-foot Christmas tree and below were several reindeer pulling their cart containing one of the biggest gingerbread house we had seen.… Read the rest
Salman, the hotel representative, was waiting for us at the arrival area. Smartly dressed in his suit, he patiently holds up the placard high for all to see. He wanted to make sure his guests don’t miss him. After brief introductions he took charge of our luggage and called the vehicle to ferry us to the hotel.

An oasis called Grande Centre Point
A short taxi drive from Phaya Thai Airport Link City line station brings us to RatchaDamri area and to our Hotel Grande Centre Point . We could have taken the BTS skytrain connection too to get here, but we concurred that earlier we check in, the earlier we could move out exploring the city.
It is a longish wait at the baggage belt at Macau ferry terminal. After collecting our luggage we move towards the arrival hall, scanning the area for someone with a placard. We had booked to stay at the Manadarin Oriental for our special vacation! A smart young man with the placard introduces himself politely as Manadrin Oriental’s Reception staff and says the vehicle is ready to ferry us to the hotel. We decide to change some currency at the post office situated in the terminal building and get in to the huge and comfortable van.
