ConClay in Kanatal -II

Contd from Part I here… ..
Day2
This was the day for our Unconference. It started at 10 AM and went till evening. The discussions and knowledge sharing was quite satisfying for all of us. Each one of us bringing a fresh dish on his/her platter. I won’t go into the details in this post as to who presented what, some other participants have written about it. I’ll share all the links at the end and write about it separately. Again we could not go anywhere so settled down for Antakshari around a bonfire.

Day3
Now that presentations were done, serious stuff got talked about; it was the day for sightseeing and fun.
After a lazy breakfast and some discussions, plan was to visit Tehri Dam.

Tehri Dam.

Man ! It is so beautiful! Emerald green water was stark contrast to brown and white concrete surroundings. The Tehri Dam is the highest multi-purpose rock and earth-fill dam in the Asian region and fifth in the world. Since it is Rock and Earth filled dam, it is strong enough to withstand an earthquake of 8.4 magnitude.

In post lunch session we got divided in two groups. Mariellen, Lakshmi, Arun and Deepak left for Mussoorie. Nandita had a session with the Chef of Club Mahindra and I had a session arranged with the staffs of the resort who are experts in Towel art. I asked a few questions and videographed them making beautiful swans, flowers etc. A separate post on this will come in due course.

The Mall road, Mussoorie.

Later we too left for Mussoorie via Dhanaulti Eco Park. The Eco Park was a complete disappointment. While Dhanaulti was deserted, Mussoorie, the queen of hills, was very lively. There was chill in the air; much buzz on the Mall road. The shops selling woolens, dresses, eateries and liquor were making brisk business.

It was dark when we left the town for Kanatal.

Day 4
The day had come when we had to say goodbye to this small beautiful town Kanatal, after soaking ourselves in pure natural splendor, simplicity and warm hospitality

We were to drive down to Dehradun from where we had to fly to Delhi and then to our respective cities. At Delhi T3 we had to again wait till 6 PM for our flights. And we spent the time in style. 🙂

More on this later. Oh before I forget, I met another world famous sportsman on my way back. Let us keep it for another post. 😀
