Today I went to SATTE, Mumbai chapter.
This year SATTE has moved venue. Commuting in Mumbai from one place to another is not that easy, especially if you have to go from one end to another. We are still waiting for the sophisticated metro to come to the city and hence as of now we are at the mercy of local trains & autos / cabs.
Earlier in the day I had tweeted a photo of a section of the queue in front of me and that told me I was going to be late. Terribly late. Two & half hours later I took a cab from VT & the cabbie dropped me at the wrong gate!
Anyway, I reached at the right place after making a few wrong rounds.
Once I was in, I was excited. Only thing I wasn’t happy with was, the number of stalls. Though it has become bigger in size, I still felt there could have been more stalls.
It is to capture the potential of travel & tourism in western India. It stands testimony to the importance the travel & tourism industry gives to the event.
I spoke to Mr. Kyp Charalambous, Director, Atlantis Dubai, who apprised me the kind of business they are doing in India for last 5 years and what is their expectation from the market for the current year. He said he could see the trend changing and people of India have now become more aware of how they want to spend their vacations.
