Le Café

It is 24 hour coffee shop on the famous Beach road. Not only coffee, the aroma of freshly baked cakes, breads, croissants, baguette, Danish will not allow you to go without tasting some.

Popular with tourists, this shop also has a good street map of the city and day tour informations guiding the tourists. It goes without mention that we came here more than once.

What bliss it is to have morning coffee along the beach at ‘Le Café’  !

This place was once the port office when the railway ran along Beach Road from the South Boulevard to the old 240 meters iron pier. A cyclone in 1952 largely destroyed the pier whose remains can still be seen poking out of the water. See on the right side of following photograph.

  1. Ram,
No, we could not go there. 🙁
That’s one reason I can always cite for my next visit. 😛

    Welcome here and keep coming.

  2. Oh yes, its absolute bliss to have coffee in the early hour of morning watching the sky change its colour. For the one day you have speant, you seem to have covered a lot. I would reccomend, to speand atleast 3 days , laze around and try to let the culture of this place seep into you.
