An oasis called Grande Centre Point

An oasis called Grande Centre Point

A short taxi drive from Phaya Thai Airport Link City line station brings us to RatchaDamri area and to our Hotel Grande Centre Point . We could have taken the BTS skytrain connection too to get here, but we concurred that earlier we check in, the earlier we could move out exploring the city.

Everything was ready awaiting our arrival including a refreshing welcome drink.

The hotel is a huge skyscraper of 50+ floors with a resplendent lobby in Thai inspired style. While walking to the reception counter I noticed a comfort corner with a few people enjoying their respective tea or coffee. A great idea to spend some time before going off to the room or meeting some guests at the lobby. Later we found that this was absolutely complimentary for the residents!

Coffee corner, I call it comfort corner

I loved the electronic toilet system.

Kitchen and dining area, and of course the washing machine!

The room was quite big, luxurious and well appointed. The most surprising but considerate element was a small but well-furnished kitchenette with electric cooktops and other utensils one would need to cook. So, for those who love their cooking, this is the place. The most singular equipment that we found interesting was the washing machine! Now we don’t have to worry about the laundry at all. A thoughtful sachet of detergent was to be found on top and replenished every day.

Wi-Fi connection is very strong in any corner of the hotel & yes, it’s FREE. There are separate escalators for upper floors.

The location is quite close to the Ratchaprasong shopping district on Sukhumvit Road with many malls within walking distance. What’s more, a BTS station within just 5 minute walk puts all the important places of Bangkok within easy ambit. A short distance of 1.5 km brings you to the whole sale shopping extravaganza that is called Platinum Fashion Mall. 🙂

There are overall 526 rooms all with King / Twin bed including several two or three bed room apartment style suites too with individual TV & bathrooms and dining/living area! Suitable, if you are a large family or may be a part of delegation. One could negotiate a long term prices too for these apartments.

Breakfast menu in the ground floor Mesamis Café is substantial with mostly continental spread accompanied with Thai, French and Chinese cuisines. There is another restaurant in upper floor for breakfast that serves local food which we could not try.

Movie hall, relax and watch movie of your choice.

Your kids and the child in you are going to love what I am going to say now. There is a dedicated playing area equipped with toys and padded floor for safety for your kids. One of the biggest swimming pool and fitness centre I have seen in Bangkok.

There is also a reading room with a nice ambience if you don’t want to be cooped up in your room and what’s more you have a movie room too with many latest titles on the offer. A place you can unwind on days you don’t want to dive into the bustle of Bangkok.

When I compared the tariffs with tariffs in India, these rooms are way much cheaper and affordable. I would love to stay there again any day. All in all, a nice home away from home, for the single, couple and the family!
