Dubai – A City of Charms ?

Dubai city, a city of dreams for some, a shopping paradise for others. But to me it is an artificial city. Tall spotless buildings, shining malls, clean roads, trees so perfectly shaped that they all look fake. Everything is so flawlessly built and maintained that it looks unrealistic.

More on the city later. Till then here are some photos for you to soak in.

Even places in the USA, Europe and Australia are a bit imperfect, a bit tainted which adds to their being close to humankind.

  1. Artificial, maybe fake… but I wouldn’t mind to go there, though just once… ;))

Now, one week working without coming here and you don’t even remember that
Blogtrotter still exists. But it’s there, even if India 2008 has come to an end… ;)). Have a great weekend!

  2. you know dubai is such a place of wonder on sooooo many levels. first of all, how do you do something that has been done in dubai. secondly, how do you sooooo not care about the environment when it comes to dubai. thirdly, how do you soooooo not care about all the poverty that goes on in the rest of the world.
so dubai is an enigma with complexities too hard to understand.

  3. “Even places in the USA, Europe and Australia are a bit imperfect, a bit tainted which adds to their being close to humankind.” …. thats what i always think about created wonders … imperfections makes one REAL.

  4. Never been there, though did catch a glimpse from the air recently, as the sun sets the city seems to glow of a golden colour. Want to see it from up close sometime. Yes, I was surprised seeing at the perfect square plots, the trees and all surrounded by the desert sands. 🙂

  5. I would definitely visit because I’m curious about it, but living there… nah, thanks. I like people, I like messy cities, I like wilderness.
