Looking back at Year 2013

Another year has passed and it’s time to look back and take stock of my journeys, not only in terms of travel but the journeys which opened a new horizon in front of me and helped me see the world with diverse perceptions.
As I always say, I count my memories, not the places and I am happy that my travel memories are far more and better than the destinations.

What did I buy in Mauritius?

So, what did I buy in Mauritius?

Unless it is a total vacation, shopping for me is mostly restricted to souvenir shopping, you very well know that. 🙂

And that tells you why this post! I realized it’s another month and time to talk about the souvenirs collected from all over the world and what better time to show you something from Mauritius, from where I returned recently.

Hello from Mauritius

Bonjour, tout le Monde. çava?

Hello from the land of exotic locales, lively waterfalls, turquoise blue waters, white pristine sand, white houses on the shore and green sugarcane fields.

Ah, this is what happens when you miss checking my Facebook page or Twitter regularly. That is the place where most of my updates happen. 🙂

Blue waters of Mauritius

I was browsing through my photos of valley of flowers to continue with my posts on it & realized it is a Friday again.

Is it the blue sky or the blue waters that is more interesting here? I think both.

I like this photo for the parallel lines it has … or the layers of different colors. Also, the mountains, sea, fluffy clouds and the cobbled ground try to prove their supremacy over each other.

What do you think of this photo?

Sept Cascades Tamarind Falls in Mauritius

Cliff jumping in Mauritius

Only the day before I had witnessed a purely South Indian festival of Thai Poosam in the exotic island called Mauritius. I was exhausted after the festival and later driving round the island with some friends.

When I woke up next morning I was as fresh and energetic as ever. I was poring over the map to look for some off beat places when I spotted Sept Cascade. Literal meaning is 7 waterfalls. It sounded interesting. I checked with hotel reception. One of the guys had not seen or heard of it; the other one said … Read the rest

The Year That Was 2011

The Year That Was 2011
Another year. Another set of to-dos. And a time to look back and take stock …
Yes, I know I am late to do this post but by only a few days and since I am travelling, I can be excused. 😛

Sometimes we travel to too many places and at times we don’t have enough.
The year 2011 started in the Philippines. We celebrated our Christmas & new year in that country. Besides the capital Manila, we could explore some part of it but Batad was a place which left mark on my life. … Read the rest
