Manekken Pis, the pissing boy of Brussels

Continuing with my souvenir series, today I have for you the little kid who ought to do it in the toilet but is found pee-ing in everybody’s plain view. 😀

Manekken Pis, as he is famously known, is synonymous with Brussels. So, on my first visit to Brussels I was looking forward to see him. 🙂 And I found his statue near Grand Place, the Manekken Pis or the Peeing Little Man, in an obscure corner of a junction of small lane and a bigger road.

The original is a bronze statute about 50cm height and peeing blissfully at the passersby. 😀 He has a huge wardrobe of over 600 costumes but mostly he prefers being naked like these photos. 😛

How shamelessly he is pointing towards me !

It is one of the major attractions of Brussels. I did not know then that there is also his female counterpart called Jeanneke Pis some where in Brussels. I would have loved to see that as well or even get her souvenir.
Next time for sure. 🙂

P.S.- This is a monthly series exhibiting various souvenirs that I have picked up from my journeys across the globe. You can see more of them here.
