Sorry madam, single woman are not allowed !

Have you heard of this phrase ?
I have. I have experienced it.

The Charminar (Mosque of the Four Minarets)….

I was traveling alone to Hyderabad…  June 2009. I remember clearly; it was a Saturday, a public holiday when I had decided to see Charminar (Four towers) and it’s surroundings. After satisfying myself with the time spent at Mecca mosque, I moved forward towards famous and charming Charminar.

There was utter chaos and

Here is my first post in Hindi on Malacca. Read on if you can, it is different from my English posts.

Malaysia truly Asia

True to its claim, Malaysia is really a reflection of Asia in every manner. Beautiful in its own way. The major touristy cities are busy and bustling with life while the hills are quiet and calm. The people are very helpful and friendly everywhere even if they don’t understand your language.

Trisha in Malacca

I consider myself a traveler more than a tourist. Obviously, we wanted to see and live the real Malaysia. We wanted to see its people and learn something about them and their country. So, booking a packaged tour was out of question even though it is far more comfortable and hassle free.

As I have mentioned earlier, we had

Amalgamation of two cultures

A little background – The Romans came to Pondicherry for trade in the 1st century AD. After that Pondicherry passed hands into many dynasties of Southern India before finally the first Europeans set foot on Pondy soil in 1497 in the form of the Portuguese who set up a trading post in the 1600s.

The Danes and the Dutch followed before the French period of Pondicherry began after a scuffle with the Danes. Pondicherry was thus established as a well planned and rich capital of French colonies in India and known as the French Riviera of the East. The French were the undisputed masters of this region for centuries and gave Pondichery a perfect fusion between French and Tamil cultures.

When the rest of India gained

Pondicherry a.k.a. Puducherry

Pondicherry, now known as Puducherry, is a blend of spiritual & cultural institution. French colonial heritages, Tamil culture and a cosmopolitan form are part of its life.

Having only 24 hours to see a place such as Pondicherry is like abusing it. Anyhow, we tried to cover as much as possible not to count them but enjoy and cherish the moments.

Dubai – A City of Charms ?

Dubai city, a city of dreams for some, a shopping paradise for others. But to me it is an artificial city. Tall spotless buildings, shining malls, clean roads, trees so perfectly shaped that they all look fake. Everything is so flawlessly built and maintained that it looks unrealistic.

More on the city later. Till then here are some photos for you to soak in.

Even places in the USA, Europe and Australia are a bit imperfect, a bit
