The best shopping options are in Kuah Town, Each resort also has its own collection of boutiques along with one or two duty-free outlets. The biggest mall here is the Billion Duty Free Department Store. Here you will find tons of great deals on typical duty free goods, including liquor, tobacco, perfume, cologne, leather wear, sports gear and more. I have seen people coming with empty bags & suitcases and fill them up with these duty-free bargains.
Be warned; just be sure you know the duty-free allowances at home. If you do not, importing any more than the allowed may incur an import/custom tax.

Here is a comprehensive guideline if you plan to buy duty-free stuff in the island of Langkawi.
